Accommodations

Abbaye de Talloires is a monumental building that has only 33 rooms and suites, former monks' cells. They are disposed around the Grand Gallery and the side wings on the first and second floor. The bedrooms are classified according to their size into standard rooms, superior rooms and suits.

Abbaye de Talloires: one of a kind!
All the rooms are unique because all different! Different in size, furnishment, bathroom equipment and breathtaking views they offer to our guests.
The rooms on the front have simple large windows overlooking the bay of Talloires, chosen among the 10 most beautiful bays in the world; the wing rooms on both sides of the Abbaye have small balconies permitting to enjoy the side lake view and magnificent garden and mountains views. The three rooms overlooking the mystic cloister benefit of the early morning sun over the mountain peak of La Tournette (2351m). The furniture of the rooms is mostly a combination of the empire style and modern touch, refurbished with elegant and precious materials. All the rooms are equipped with satellite TV, minibar, room safe, hair drier, bathrobe and modem connection. The Abbaye de Talloires being a historical monument has no elevator, only large, comfortable staircase. We sincerely apologize in advance for this inconvenience.

The "Standard" rooms' sizes are between 13-16 m˛, all with double bed, bath or shower and toilet. They are particularly adapted as single rooms with views over the lake, the garden or the mountains.
The
"Superior" rooms' sizes are between 17-25m˛ with King-or Queen-size bed or twin beds, private bathroom and separated toilets. Most of superior rooms are situated over the lake-or garden side.

The "Superior Family" double room:size 31m˛,with one room with king-size bed, bathroom with shower and the second room for the children with two couchbeds for one person and its own bathroom with shower. One separate toilet only for both rooms. This room overlooks the cloister, the historical inner garden.
The
Junior Suite "Winston Churchill" is a cosy large room with sitting corner, its size is 30m˛. King size bed and couch bed for two persons. Large vaulted bathroom with old-style bath tub. Separate toilet and bidet. This Junior Suite is named in memory of Churchill's visit to Abbaye and is situated on the second floor. It is one of the three rooms without a lake view, but the view of our highest mountain "La Tournette" (2351m) recompenses it largely.

The Junior Suite "Jean Reno": size 35m˛.
The famous French film actor Jean Reno is a share holder of Abbaye after falling in love with this site and especially this room. Magnificent view over the lake and gardens. Decorated in blue, King-size bed, sitting corner, chimney, old French wooden ceiling. The wood paneled bathroom with old-styled red bathtub, separate massage shower and double old-styled sink. Separate toilet.
First floor.
The
Junior Suite "Imperatrice Eugénie": size 32m˛.
Empreress Eugenia was Napoleons' III wife and was absolutely enchanted of Abbaye and Talloires. Another breathing view of the lake. Decorated in orange, King-size bed, chimney, sitting corner with couchbed for one person. Bathroom with traditional bathtub, separate toilet and bidet. First floor.

The "Cézanne" Suite, named after the famous painter Cézanne, who stayed in the Abbaye de Talloires several times in 1896, where he painted the well known "Le Lac d'Annecy". Size: 44m˛. Decorated in red-gold. The main room is equipped with king size bed, sitting corner with couch, chimney. Two dressings. Small sitting room with couchbed for two persons. Large bathroom with corner bathtub, seperate massage shower and double sink. Separate toilet. The "Cézanne" Suite situated on the second floor, is a corner room with beautiful views over lake, gardens, mountains, and village.
The
Prior's Room is a veritable museum piece. Decorated in an 18th century mythological style by Annecy painter Jean-Baptiste Van Helmont, it contains paintings depicting the apostles and a pastel-toned ceiling with cherubs frolicking in floral garlands. This décor, however, would scarcely have been favourable for prayer. Size: 36m˛, equipped with twin beds.Old-style bathroom with bathtub, sink and toilet in the bathroom. The "Prior's room" is situated on the first floor with the lake view.
