"Auberge du Mas de la Fenière" is located in Raphele, one of the closest villages to Arles. It is the ideal starting point for unforgettable discovers: Arles: Arles boasts many Roman and monuments, including those designated by Unesco as world heritage monuments in 1981: the Amphitheater, the Roman Theater, the Cryptoportiques, the Alyscamps, the Baths of Constantine, the Saint Trophime cloister and the portal of Saint Trophime's church. Along with these remarkable architectural gems, Arles has preserved many charming buildings from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Arles is also the city of Van Gogh who was inspired by the particular light of the city. During his stay in the city, Vincent Van Gogh did about 300 drawings and paintings including the "Evening Café" (Forum Square), the "Staircase of the Trinquetaille bridge", the "Starry Night" (Rhone River quay), the "Yellow House" (Place Lamartine). Picasso and Gauguin are other two extraordinary artists who loved Arles and found the city a source of inspiration. Do not forget that Arles is the capital of Camargue, a region of ancient traditions, enchanting wild landscape and beautiful sandy beaches. From Raphele you can reach the beach of Saintes Maries de la Mer in half an hour. Last but not least you will find on site a bowling alley, two golf courses within 15 km, a tennis course at 2 km, horse riding, canoyoning and kayak facilities. |
