By plane: The airport serving Strasbourg is placed 10 kms from the city in a town known as Entzheim. It receives flights from Italy, France, Brussels, Vienna and Madrid on a regular basis. You should also take into consideration the fact that Strasbourg is on the frontiers with Germany, therefore you may also come from this neighbour country: Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport is located around 55 kms from the capital of the Alsace region.
By car:
- From Strasbourg Airport: you will have to drive around 18 kilometres (approx. 15 minutes). Take roads D221 and D400, turn right in highway A35 in the direction "STRASBOURG/ ILLKIRCH-GRAFFENSTADEN" and get off at the "EXIT 2". You will reach Strasbourg, where you must go along Rue Georges Wodli, Tunnel Wodli Wilson, Petite Rue des Magasins and Rue des Halles. Continue along Rue de Sebastopol and Quai Kleber. Veer right in Rue de Faubourg de Saverne and left in Rue Kuhn: you will find the hotel on number 16.
- From Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport in Germany: It is located 57 kms from the inn (50 minutes driving more or less). You must drive along roads B36 and B28/E52 before entering France. Then join road N4, get off at Exit 51 "Strasbourg-Centre" and you will arrive in the city. At the roundabout, go along the second exit, Rue de Wissembourg, and turn right in Boulevard du Président Wilson. Turn left in Rue des Halles and follow the directions already described.
By train:
If your plane lands in Strasbourg Airport, the best way to reach the hotel is by taking the trains reaching the station in central Strasbourg (it is a 14 minutes trip, approx.). Otherwise, you should take the shuttle service to the tram station called Baggersee, then the tram (line A, direction Hautepierre Maillon), and descend at Gare Centrale -these connections leave every 20 minutes-. From Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport you can take the bus services to Strasbourg.
Trains from Paris: the TGV service- arrive in Strasbourg in 2 hours 20 minutes, and there are also connections coming from Lyon, Metz and Karlsruhe in Germany. From Strasbourg`s main railway station, the Best Western is just 300 metres away: just go along Rue Kuhn and you will find the property on number 16, after crossing Rue Kageneck. In order to reach downtown, you can use the tram service (lines A or D), and in a few minutes you will reach the Cathedral and other sights. |
