Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at Chateau de la Pioline, however there are a couple of points that I would like to bring to your attention where my expectations were not met:
Firstly, the website stated that there were tennis courts nearby. When we enquired at the reception about playing, the staff didn't know where we could play. They did however look up some courts for us, but these were a 20 euro taxi ride each way. It was a private club which did not normally take one-off guests. Luckily they made an exeception for us, for another 20 euros. We found the website misleading to say the least as it took significant effort to find courts, obtain permission to play, get there etc..not to mention cost: our one game ended up costing us 60 Euros.
The second point that I found slightly misleading was the transport facilities. On the website, it states that there is a bus stop outside the hotel, however these buses only went once an hour and the service had finished by 7pm. The staff at the hotel looked surprised when we asked them about buses and told us they took ages as they stopped everywhere. They also were not sure which bus route served the hotel. I would now strongly recommend against staying at the hotel without a car, especially given its location on a rather unattractive business park. This is not the impression given by the website which implies there is easy access into the centre of Aix by bus.

An impressive chateau in beautiful grounds. Compromised however by its unfortunate location in a business park with limited public transport into Aix (and the surroundings).

I would suggest that a little bit more information about the town within which the hotel is situated be provided on the site web.
...
It's a good experience staying in the hotel and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. Besides, the food at the hotel's restaurant is good.
