Hôtel Château des Alpilles is located in the heart of interior Provence, in Saint Rémy the Provence. The foothills of the Alps, "Les Alpilles", offer natural scenery of exceptional beauty. By road: Starting in Saint Remy de Provence (centre), follow the circular road around the old town and take the Tarascon/Nimes/Arles exit (opposite the church). 500 meters down this road, a narrow road forks to the left, with a statue of J. Roumanille. Take this road (the road to Rougadou, which becomes the D31). The Chateau des Alpilles is on the right, 2 km further on.
By Train: From Avignon: The high speed (TGV) the station is located 20 km or 22 minutes away. On leaving the TGV station, follow the signs "toutes directions" then Tarascon/Chateaurenard/St Remy de Provence, cross over Rognonas bridge and inmediately take a left turn onto D571, continue on for 3,7 km then take the D34 for 6,6 km. Continue alongside the village of Eyragues in the direction of Saint Remy De Provence. Once in Saint Remy De Provence follow the directions above.
By Plane: From Marseille: Marignane airport is located 90 km away. On leaving the airport follow the "toutes directions" signs, then Salon and the motorway A7. Take exit 25 Cavaillon/Beaucaire/Tarascon/Saint Remy De Provence. On leaving the toll area, follow the directions to Saint Remy de Provence (A7 slip roadfor 1 km). Then follow D99 for 14 km and D99a for 700 meters in the direction of Saint Remy de Provence. Once in Saint Remy de Provence follow the directions above.
From Nimes: Nimes Camargue airport is located 40 km away. On leaving the airport, take the A9 motoway in direction of Arles. After the toll at Arles, take the expressway alongside Arles and then the Tarascon/Beaucaire exit in the direction of Saint Remy De Provence. Several roundabouts, still going around Arles. After Arles, continue on in the direction of St. Etienne du Gres, go through this village and only after reaching the place named "Le Mas Blanc des Alpilles" take the second narrow asphalt road on the right (D31 the sign post is very small). This road intersects the D27 in the direction of Les Baux and the hotel. The Chateau des Alpilles is a few kilometers down the road, on the left. If you get as far as St Remy de Provence then you have gone too far and you have to back-track. |
