The Restaurant The refined and well known cuisine of David Chartier can be served either in the old Orangerie of the castle or on the terrace as often as the weather permits. During the summer season you will enjoy your lunch or dinner outside on the terrace overlooking the Indre river. The cuisine is classical and definitely inspired by the Loire traditions. Taste the "Beuchelle Tourangelle" a dish made with "sauté of veal sweetbreads" and kidneys with a white sauce and morels. A Must!!! |
Small or large dining rooms and lounges are perfect for private or less intimate events. Tennis court, swimming pool, and rowing boat on the river are at your disposal. You will have the possibility to sun bathe and relax or stroll in the colorful and green park of the castle. Wireless Internet connection is available for all our guests, plus a spacious parking in the property. A rich continental breakfast is served in our restaurant or directly in your room, if you prefer. |

Le Domaine de la Tortinière is ideally located in the heart of the Loire valley. In Montbazon: not to forget the newly renovated Donjon of Montbazon (the oldest donjon of France) where Harry and Jacqueline Atterton, the owners, will treat their guests like kings. Westward along the Indre river, with a stopover in Balzac's house in Saché, and to the splendid and perfect jewel which is Azay le Rideau, to Rigny Ussé (Charles Perrault was inspired by this castle for the fairy tale sleeping beauty) or to Chinon well known for its red wines or across the Loire to discover the last medieval castle of Langeais. Eastward along the Loire, through Montlouis or Vouvray both villages well known for their delicious white wines, to the Château of Amboise or to the master piece of Chenonceau across the Cher. The "Garden of France" is the other name of the Loire valley. Gardens such as Villandry (typical "French" gardens) or such as the one in Prieuré Saint Cosme or the 24 little designed gardens created by 24 gardeners from all over the world, every year in Château de Chaumont, not to forget the splendid château of Chambord and the city of Blois 45 minutes from Domaine de la Tortinière. Our front desk staff will be happy to organize special itineraries for you! |
