By Plane Strasbourg has its own airport, placed 10 kms from the city in Entzheim. It welcomes flights from Italy, France, Brussels, Vienna and Madrid on a regular basis. In addition to this, as Strasbourg is close to the frontiers with Germany, you may also come from this country, being Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport the closest, placed around 55 kms from the capital of the Alsace region.
By Car If your plane lands in Strasbourg Airport, you will have to drive around 18 kilometres (approx. 20 minutes). Take roads D221 and D400, turn right in highway A35 in the direction "STRASBOURG/ ILLKIRCH-GRAFFENSTADEN" and get off at the "EXIT 4/ STRASBOURG-CENTRE/ E52/ KEHL/ PLACE DE L'ÉTOILE/ MONTAGNE VERTE/ ZONE INDUSTRIELLE-PLAINE DES BOUCHERS". Continue along N4 and you will reach Strasbourg, where you must go along Route de la Vienne, turn left in Quai de General Koenig and go along Rue de la 1ere Armèe. Continue along Rue des Bouchers, pass Place du Corbeau and you will cross the river. Then drive along Rue due Vieux Marché aux Poissons, Place Gutenberg and Rue des Serruriers. You will see the inn on number 31, right in front of the square.
Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport in Germany is placed 45 kms from the inn (50 minutes driving more or less). You must take roads B36 and B28/E52 before entering France. Then join road N4 and follow the directions already described.
By Train Strasbourg main railway station in Place de la Gare is located around 1,6 kms from the inn, so it will take you around 12 minutes to drive to the inn, or go by taxi. Trains from Paris -the TGV service- arrive at the station in 2 hours 20 minutes, while there are also connections from Metz and Karlsruhe in Germany. You can easily move around Strasbourg by tram, being Grand Rue the nearest stop, placed around the corner from the inn.
If your plane lands in Strasbourg Airport, you may reach the train station (14 minutes trip, approx.) or take the shuttle service to the tram station known as Baggersee, then again the tram (line A), which reaches downtown, these connections leave every 20 minutes. From Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport you can take the bus services to Strasbourg. |
