"Staying at Avignon's Hotel de la Mirande is a journey back through two centuries of exquisite French decorative art." (Departures Magazine). Tiled and parquet floors, custom and antique carpets, wall covering with chintzes designed in the 18th century, paint, panelling, master paintings, antique furniture, plush marble baths, all come together in serene period harmony for all our 20 bedrooms. |
There is a blissful garden with a terrace for open-air dining in the summer, a wicker-spiffed courtyard conservatory for afternoon tea, an opulent "Salon Rouge" sitting room with an open fire on cold and rainy days, a Chinese cabinet for more tea or a hot chocolate, a softly lit dining room with it's double coffered Renaissance ceiling and 17th century Aubusson tapestry. We also hold successful practical cooking classes for local people as well as hotel guests. They are held in the beautiful old kitchen which dates back to the turn of the century. |
