Coming by Car:
- From Nice, Marseille or Lyon: on the motorway A8-A7, take the Avignon Nord exit and drive towards Avignon. After a little while, the river will be to your right and then the old city-wall (built by the Popes in the 14th century) to your left. When you reach the gate Porte de la Ligne, go through this gate and turn immediately right. Follow this street, which becomes increasingly narrow, and turn right again at the third STOP sign. To access the pedestrianised area, please drive right up to the metal bollards, call La Mirande through the intercom, and take a ticket. Drive on when the red light turns yellow, which is the only proof that the bollards are completely down.
- From anywhere else: you can drive around the old city-wall either clockwise or anticlockwise in about 15 minutes. Just look out for the gate Porte de la Ligne, which is located where the river comes closest to the city-wall. Please be aware this gate offers the only easy access to La Mirande.
