 From this spot in Pauillac, Hotel Le Vignoble can become a pretty convenient starting point for tours around the "Chateaux route", as road D2 is known: after visiting your room you should walk to the centre of the village -placed 5 minutes away- and ask at the Maison du Tourisme et du Vin for reservations on trips to winegrowing Chateaux: the most important are Château Mouton-Rothschild, Château Lafite-Rothschild and Château Latour.
Apart from tasting the various wines, pay attention to the architecture of the different chateaux, as they follow the principles of different eras and there are a number of interesting styles to admire. |
