The airport serving Strasbourg is placed 10 kms from the city in a town known as Entzheim. It receives flights from Italy, France, Brussels, Vienna and Madrid on a regular basis. You should also take into consideration the fact that Strasbourg is on the frontiers with Germany, therefore you may also come from this neighbour country: Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport is located around 55 kms from the capital of the Alsace region.
By Car
If your flight arrives in Strasbourg Airport, you will have to drive around 16 kilometres (approx. 15 minutes). Take roads D221 and D400, turn right in highway A35 in the direction "Strasbourg/ Illkirch-Graffenstaden" and get off at the "Exit 4/ Strasbourg-Centre/ E52/ Kehl/ Place De L'étoile/ Montagne Verte/ Zone Industrielle-Plaine Des Bouchers". You will reach Strasbourg, where you must go along Rue des Saales and turn left in Boulevard de Lyon. Drive towards "Porte Blanche/ Gare Centrale" and stay on Boulevard de Lyon and Boulevard de Nancy. Veer right in Rue du Faubourg National and you will find the hotel on number 24/26.
Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport in Germany is located 57 kms from the inn (50 minutes driving more or less). You must drive along roads B36 and B28/E52 before entering France. Then join road N4, get off at Exit for "Offenburg/ Saint-Dié/ Colmar/ Mulhouse/ Strasbourg-Autres Quartiers" and afterwards, at Exit 3. You will arrive in the city, where you must take Rue de Koenigshoffen, Boulevard de Lyon and then follow the directions already described.
By Train
If your plane lands in Strasbourg Airport, the best way to reach the hotel is by taking the trains reaching the station in central Strasbourg (14 minutes trip, approx.). Otherwise, you should take the shuttle service to the tram station called Baggersee, then the tram (line A, direction Hautepierre Maillon), and get off at Gare Centrale, these connections leave every 20 minutes. From Karlsruhe Baden-Baden airport you can take the bus services to Strasbourg. Trains from Paris, the TGV service, arrive in Strasbourg in 2 hours 20 minutes, and there are also connections from Lyon, Metz and Karlsruhe in Germany.
From Strasbourg`s main railway station, Hotel Pax is just 3 minutes away: just go along Petit Rue de la Course up to Rue du Faubourg National. In order to reach downtown, approx. 1 km away, you can use the tram service (lines A or D), and in a few minutes you will reach the Cathedral and other sights. |
