At Best Western Saphir, you may try the best dishes of local cuisine at the restaurant Les Tournesols: there are four menus to choose among, Express, Regional, Vegetarian and the "Menu du Chef". In the mornings, the breakfast buffet is served here (you may also take it in your room): it contains coffee, tea, chocolate, orange juice and multi fruit juice, milk, mineral water. There is also croissants, cereals, bread, eggs, bacon, potatoes, ham, jam. |
 The reception at the hotel is open 24 hours a day, with staff speaking English; German and French. There is also a private parking, and 250 m² of meeting areas for business or social events (the rooms are "Emeraude", "Rubi", "Espace Cristal", "Saphir", "Jade", all named after precious gems). The bar "Autoportrait" is open from 10am till 11pm, and you may check your email at the Business Centre. |

Notre-Dame de Fourviere Basilica, built between 1872 and 1896, is one of the main attractions in Lyon, placed on Fourvieres hill, only two metro stations far from Gorge de Loup. You should also check the Theatre des Celestins, on rue Charles Dullin: this stage showed its first plays in 1792, after it was converted from the original convent from 1407. Musée Lumiere is another must-see: the Lumiere brothers actually invented cinema here in 1895.
