By plane: Avignon is the airport placed closer to L`Asphodele: this terminal, located only 30 minutes from Gordes, welcomes direct flights from Paris and Southampton, as well as many connections via Orly airport to other cities in Europe. Take into account that if your plane lands in Paris, there are 3 hours-long connections on the TGV train service to Avignon.
By car:
- From Avignon Caumont airport -28 kilometres from Gordes: go along Chemin de Meinajariés street and turn right at Chemin de Félons. You will reach a roundabout, where you must take the second exit into N7 motorway. At Noves, get on road D793 and as you approach Caumont-sur-Durance, continue along D22. Turn right in road N100 and you will end up in another town, Coustellet, where you have to veer left in D2. Finally, take your left at Chemin de la Calade and you will soon arrive in Gordes. Cross the town and as you come to the roundabout where the castle stands, take the road that heads to Murs. Keep on for around 1,6 kilometre and get off the main track, following the signs to the property. (This journey will take around 30 minutes).
.- From north -Lyon, for example: along A7 highway, get off at the exit "Avignon Sud/ Junction 24"; from the south, if you land in Marseille, leave the highway at "Cavaillon/ Exit 25". Drive towards Apt and when you come to Coustellet, go on in the direction Gordes.
By train: You should know that the managers of L`Asphodele advise visitors to reach the property by car, as there are no means of public transport reaching the house. However, you can come up to Avignon by train, and then take a taxi to Gordes or rent a car to reach the house driving. From Gare de Lyon train station in Paris, the TGV service has a direct connection to Avignon (3 hours). |
