At Chambre d`Hote La Belle Strasbourgeoise you will find only three guestrooms, but this enables the decoration and style to receive more attention and be absolutely unique. The purpose of the owners, Françoise and Christophe Schmitt, was to combine contrasting colours, décors and times in history, and they achieved it. In addition to this, at each room, named after delicious sweets, you will find certains details preserved from the past. |
"The Spicy Marshmallow Room" (double chamber) sports a minimalist inspiration, with a baldaquine bed in plain black wood, combined with details that remind of countryside decoration. It features a 1,60 x 2 metres bed, and a private bathroom. At a corner of the chamber you will discover the jewel of this accommodation in the house: a trunk that used to belong to Christophe Schmitt`s grandparent, with his initials on it, "Ch W"; it is placed between two chairs, below the window, adding a particular charm to the ambiance. This ancestor is pretty known in Strasbourg, as he used to own a really popular toy store, "Wery", which practically every adult citizen remembers from his childhood, if you dare to ask. |
"The Pistachio Macaron Room" (double or family chamber), features a more informal style and is the largest accommodation in the Chambre d`Hote. It comprises a double bed (1,90 x 1,90) and a few steps away, a bunk bed (1,40 x 1,90), below which there is a sofa where a fourth person can sleep in. What is really particular about this room is the wash basin found in the bathroom: it was kept from the original construction of the house, back in 1936. |
Then you may try "The Hot Chocolate and Berlingots Room" (for 2 guests), which features two single beds (1 metre x 1,90) and a private bathroom with shower. The beds are the treasures of this guestroom, as they were made in 1870, in Napoleon III style, combined with Louis XV style. |
