| Le Manoir Saint Thomas is placed in Amboise, at only three minutes walk from the famous Royal Castle and five minutes from Le Clos Lucé (with the inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci). The town center of Amboise is very beautiful and romantic with many small historic streets. Around the area you will find plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. The Castle of Chenonceau is at 12 kilometers from the Hotel and it's also worth it to visit. The city of Blois is at about half an hour, and Chambord and Cheverny are at about 45 minutes. Château of Amboise was built in the 15th and 16th centuries, and introduced the Italian style into the Loire valley. The place has a huge collection of Gothic and Renaissance furnishings. There are gorgeous gardens planted with Mediterranean plants. In the Saint-Hubert chapel, you will find the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci. If you fancy wine tasting you could try it next to the Château of Amboise or go along the Loire river to Vouvray. |
