Around 40 kilometres south of Strasbourg, and only 25 minutes from Colmar, capital of the Alsace wines,
Le Verger des Chateaux was built in 1993 in the village of Dieffenthal. This location is one of the many enchanting villages along the wine route: it was completely destroyed during the Peasants War, in 1525, but later on, an opening related to the wine production made it famous.

At Dieffenthal you will be delighted with the old houses, the church that dates as far back as the 18th century and four Roman vaults found in the vineyards. Le Verger des Chateaux comprises 32 rooms that overlook the vineyards and some castles too: it is the perfect landscape for a stay at Alsace, in direct contact with the features that identify the region. There is also a restaurant at the property, offering two different menus, a traditional one and a gastronomic one.

Another interesting spot to visit only 20 minutes away is the Haut-Koenigsbourg Chateaux, a medieval fortress that underwent preservation works in the 20th century and is one of the main attractions in the Alsace. It was abandoned in 1633 and Kaiser Wilhelm II ordered its restoration in 1899, as he was passionate for Middle Ages structures. As a result, this chateaux is a fine example of the mountain fortresses that used to govern the mountains of the Alsace in the 15th century.
