Profile |
Holiday in the south of France at Mas Pomona, a refurbished 17th century farmhouse, set amid the apple orchards of the Lubéron National Park at Cheval Blanc. Relax in five spacious en suite double bedrooms, two with their own terraces. Laze in the sunshine by the 15 metre swimming pool. Sample Provencal cuisine at the village's two restaurants. |
Use as a base for outings to Avignon, Aix, St Remy and countless lovely hill villages, including Gordes, Rousillon, Menerbes, Bonnieux and Lourmarin. Hike or bike in the mountains, fish along the Sorgues river, play tennis in the village and golf at plenty of fine local courses. Easy to get to: Nimes (Ryanair), 50 min; Marseille (BA & Easyjet) 45 min; Avignon (TGV) 30 min; or the A7 autoroute, Cavaillon exit, 12 min. The farm was built in 1690 and was added to over the years in true Provencal style. |
It was purchased in 2002 by David and Marianne Wilkinson who carried out extensive refurbishments and further extended the property. They acquired the mas three years ago and have spent the intervening period on extensive refurbishment as documented in the July 2005 issue of Living France magazine. They hail from Cambridge, where Marianne was the proprietor of a highly successful interior design business working in both the corporate and domestic sectors. |
David was a professional photographer, specializing in house interiors and advertising. They met more than 30 years ago when Marianne left her native Sweden to study English. They have travelled widely in Provence and can share their knowledge of the region with their guests. |
