The city of Hyères-les-Palmiers is located at 15 km from the Residence. Hyères-les-Palmiers was made famous mainly by the British aristocracy who came to enjoy the spa baths in the nineteenth century. |
By train:
Toulon train station is located 20 km from Giens.
Hyeres train station is at 8 km.
By air:
Toulon - Hyeres international airport is located at 8 km from Giens.
Marseille international airport at 140 km west from Giens.
Nice international airport at 150 km east from Giens.
By car:
From Paris - Lille - Lyon
Take highway "autoroute du sud » towards Marseille.
Turn off onto highway to Toulon.
Once in Toulon, drive through the city towards highway a57 to hyeres (signs show: nice, hyeres, St Tropez).
The highway ends at the entrance of hyeres at which point you reach a roundabout.
Continue straight ahead on the other side of the roundabout (at 1200 hours) on a wide avenue: "voie d'Olbia".
At the second set of lights, turn right, follow the signs: "le port, la Capte, Giens, les Iles" on road d97.
Drive through the village "la Capte", continue straight ahead through "la Bergerie" area.
Continue towards Giens and "tour fondue".
Once on the peninsula, turn right and drive up to the village of Giens.
Once in the village, with the church on your right hand side, turn left into the narrow street that leads off from the church.
Hotel Provencal is 50 m further on the street, on the left, opposite the post office.
Coming from Nice on the highway, via "le Luc" to Toulon, turn off towards Hyeres.
Once in Hyeres, follow the same itinerary as above. |
