- Transport - Car Rental and Limousines
In
order to rent a car in France the minimum age limit ranges from
21 to 25, and you must have had a driving license for at least one
year. Some companies operate a surcharge system for drivers under
the age of 25, whilst the maximum age limit varies from company
to company, the average being 70 years. Remember that European rental
cars will have manual transmissions unless you request a car with
an automatic one.
Visitors staying
less than 90 days and carrying a valid EU, international, or U.S.
(state) license may drive in France. The insurance coverage offered
in the rental terms is mandatory. Before hiring a car in France,
make sure you know the French

In case of a
car accident you must fill out the statement you find in the glove
box of your rental car, or you can request one from your insurance
company. If there has been a law infringement call the police so
they may prepare a report. We suggest to immediately call SAMU or
the fire department if anyone is injured.

at airports and in the centre of some towns. A list of car hire
